On March 13th, Zhou Lin, director of Zhejiang Provincial Center for Statistical Research and Information Release, led two experts, Niu Yuning and Wang Yiyue, along with Lu Hailong, deputy director of Municipal Bureau of Statistics, and Zheng Haoran, director of Comprehensive Statistics Department, Municipal Bureau of Statistics, to visit our institute for guidance.
They first visited the working environment, laboratory and other basic conditions of the school, and then held a symposium on the application for Zhejiang Statistical Science Research Base in conference room 218. The meeting was chaired by Huo Yan, Secretary of the School Party Committee. Vice dean Xu Song, academic dean Li Li, director of Actuarial Science Center Wang Wei, and director of Experimental Teaching Center Wang Lihong attended the symposium.
During the meeting, deputy director Lu Hailong expressed his hope in his speech that through the construction of a statistical science research base, both sides can further leverage their advantages, form a joint force in statistical work, and become a think tank of Ningbo Municipal Government. Director Zhou Lin introduced the basic situation of the Provincial Center for Statistical Research and Information Release, and provided a detailed interpretation of the specific requirements of applying for the Zhejiang Provincial Statistical Science Research Base. She pointed out that the statistical science research base is a link to strengthen school-society cooperation, aiming to strengthen the combination of statistical theory and practice, and produce more results that serve social development. Vice dean Xu Song reported on the preparation of the school's discipline construction and base application.
At last, the attendees had a warm exchange and discussion on how to establish a provincial statistical science research base. Huo Yan expressed gratitude to the leaders of the provincial and municipal statistical bureaus for their care and guidance on the work of the school in her summary. She hoped to better serve the development of the discipline and local economic construction through the construction of statistical research bases.
