On November 24th, the second Ningbo Symposium of Statistical Science , hosted by our school, was successfully held at the Hyatt Hotel. Yao Juming, Vice President and Party Committee Member of Ningbo University, and Lu Hailong, Party Group Member and Deputy Director of Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Statistics, delivered opening speeches. More than 50 experts, scholars, and students from the Ningbo Statistical System, the Ningbo Survey Team of the National Bureau of Statistics, Zhejiang University, Ningbo University, Ningbo Institute of Engineering, and Ningbo Institute of Technology attended the conference.
During the conference, our school specially invited Professor Zhang Lixin from Zhejiang University to give a presentation on "Adaptive randomization for balancing covariates in clinical trials". The award-winning research team shared their research findings and experiences, and explored major theoretical and practical issues that are global, strategic, and forward-looking in the current socio-economic development and statistical reform.
This conference not only provided a platform for participants to exchange and learn, also provided service objects and cooperation opportunities for the School of Mathematics and Statistics of Ningbo University to participate in local economic construction.
