报告摘要: We study the Cauchy problem of the Poiseuille flow of full Ericksen-Leslie model for nematic liquid crystals. The model is a coupled system of a parabolic equation for the velocity of fluid and a wave equation for the director field of liquid crystal molecules. For a particular choice of physical parameters, we construct solutions with smooth initial data and finite energy that produce singularities in finite time for both 1D and 2D. At the time of singularity, the gradient of solution blows up. We are also able to establish the existence of global weak solutions in 1D.
报告人简介:黄涛教授于2013年在美国肯塔基大学获得数学博士学位,2013-2015年在美国宾州州立大学从事博士后研究,2015-2018年在上海纽约大学任助理教授。主要研究流体力学、微分几何中的非线性偏微分方程问题,研究方向涉及复杂流体力学、几何分析、双曲守恒律。研究成果已在《Archive for Rational Mechanics and Analysis》《Communications in Partial Differential Equations》《Journal of Differential Equations》《Calculus of Variations and Partial Differential Equations》《SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis》等多个数学杂志上发表。
